St. Francois State Park

Missouri Dept. of Natural Resources

Location:
St. Francois County

News, Updates, & Warnings:
There is a new and larger parking lot for equestrians to park in.
No hunting allowed here except special managed hunts.

Directions:
From St. Louis , take I-55 south to Hwy 67.  Go south on Hw67 about to the park's entrance, which is on the left. Follow the park road through the gate and go straight ahead. The right fork goes to the park office.  Follow the road down a very steep, curvy hill and cross the low water bridge.  Use caution as this crossing is prone to flash-flooding and impassable during periods of heavy rain. Continue on the road to the first parking area on the left.

Miles of Trails:
11 mile double loop.

Equestrian Camping:
Not allowed.

Trail Notes:
The trail starts by the sign, not down the service road, as you might first think. The trail is marked with round yellow arrow markers. The trail corridor is easy to follow.  There are a lot of hills, downfall, rocks, and a few creeks to cross.  The trailhead has registration cards. Please use them for safety reasons and also so they know how many equestrians are  using the trail.

Other Trail Users:
Hikers.
