Rockwoods Range Trail

Missouri Dept. of Conservation

Location:
St. Louis County

News, Updates, & Warnings:
Green Rock Trail is not open to equestrian use within Rockwood Range.

Directions:
From St. Louis, take I-44 west to the Six Flags exit.  Go north on Six Flags Road to the Mustang Center on the right, in Greensfelder County Park.  Two small parking lots can be accessed from Fox Creek Road.  Turn north on Allenton Road from I-44 then turn immediately west onto Fox Creek Road, which runs parallel with I-44.

Miles of Trails:
7 miles plus 28 miles in Greensfelder Park.

Equestrian Camping:
No, not at Rockwoods Range, but close by at Greensfelder Park.

Trail Notes:
Fox Run Trail:  There are some hills and rocky areas to negotiate, with the trail becoming especially rocky and steeper near the Fox Run parking lot.
Round House Trail:  This trail is one of the easier trails in the Greensfelder-Rockwoods Range network of trails.  There are still some rocky hilly sections, some of which do get rutted.  This trail also passes through some cedar glades and has some wet weather creek crossings.
Fox Creek Spur Trail:  This trail leads from the "bottom" of the Round House Trail loop to the Fox Creek parking lot which is too small for horse trailers.  It's down all the way from the loop to the parking area.

Other Trail Users:
Hikers and mountain bike riders.

Volunteers Helping With This Page:
