Directions:
From Kirksville, take Hwy 63 north to Hwy 136, turn east. Follow Hwy 136 to Lake Showme Drive, turn south. Lake Showme Drive goes all the way around the lake and will lead you to a few different trailheads and campgrounds.

8 miles, more or less.
Equestrian Camping:
Yes, Primitive camping at North Trailhead as well as 6 electric sites at the other campground. You can camp at any of the other campgrounds as well.
Trail Notes:
This trail goes around the lake shore. It is an easy trail with very few hazards to negotiate. It gets a little hillier in the forest, but still not much to worry about.
