Little Indian Creek Trail

Missouri Dept of Conservation

Location:
Franklin County

News, Updates, & Warnings:
Closed during fall firearms deer & spring firearms turkey seasons.

Directions:
From St. Louis, take I-44 west to the 2nd St. Clair exit. Turn left, go to the stop sign. Turn left onto Commercial and then an immediate right at the stop light onto Hwy 30. Continue east to Hwy K, turn right.  Drive until you get to Old Hwy K, the first road on the left after the Meramec River Bridge. Follow Old Hwy K to Little Indian Creek Road, turn right. Drive to the road on the right that is marked as having the trail head.  Turn right and follow to the trail head parking lot on the left. There is a low water bridge just before the lot that can flood making it impassible, as well as several parts of the roads leading into the area that can flood during the rainy season.

Miles of trails:
12 mile double loop.

Equestrian Camping:
Not Allowed.

Trail Notes:
This trail is well maintained by a local saddle club. It's longer and better marked than it had been in the past. There are downfall and creeks to negotiate, but no other real hazards. Some areas of the trail are out in open fields and can become hot in the summer, as well as overgrown. You might want to call ahead before coming to this trail during the wet weather season because sometimes the roads and low water bridge leading to the trail and trailhead are flooded

Other Trail Users:
Hikers and hunters.
