From Poplar Bluff, take Hwy 60 east to Hwy 51, turn north.  Follow Hwy 51 to the entrance to the area on the left.

Miles of Roads:
15 miles, more or less, of riding.

Equestrian Camping:
No longer allowed.

Trail Notes:
Very level gravel road riding.  Could be a great wet weather season alternative if it's not water fowl migrating season.  I'd be hesitant to ride here when there's a chance of 100's of birds taking off all at the same time. Other hazards include trucks pulling boats coming in and out a lot.  You're right against the edge of the water, so watch out for people casting their fishing lines.  Do not look directly down at the water, it moves very slowly and can mess with your equilibrium if you're not used to it.  Pool one's south side looks like a large lake, but the north end of it looks more like what I think of when I think "swamp".  LOTS of red eared sliders here.  This is a swamp, so bring a lot of "off" for yourself and make sure your horse is vaccinated for West Nile Virus.  I didn't think I'd like it here, but it really is a neat place.

Other Trail Users:
Hikers, hunters, boaters, & fishermen.
